retired256 Blocks
An intelligent RPC routing platform that provided policy enforcement and AI agent integration for Web3 apps across Ethereum, Base and more.
256 Blocks was an intelligent RPC routing platform for Web3 applications. It sat between your application and blockchain networks, handling traffic distribution, policy enforcement and AI agent integration so you could focus on building rather than managing infrastructure.
Intelligent routing
Traffic was distributed across four global regions using a penalty-based routing algorithm. Each region maintained independent health tracking, so a degraded provider in one location did not affect routing decisions elsewhere. Requests were automatically shifted away from unhealthy endpoints and rebalanced as providers recovered.
Policy engine
Declarative policies written in Rego gave you fine-grained control over what happened at the RPC layer. You could define transaction approval rules, rate limiting thresholds, access controls and custom validation logic. Policies were versioned and applied consistently across all traffic without code changes to your application.
AI-native integration
256 Blocks provided first-class MCP support for AI agents interacting with blockchain networks. Agents could discover available methods, execute transactions and query on-chain data through a standardised interface with the same policy enforcement applied to every request.
Supported networks
The platform supported Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon and BNB Smart Chain.
Pricing
256 Blocks operated on a pay-as-you-go model at $0.02 per 1,000 credits, with no minimum commitments or monthly fees.
Status
256 Blocks has been retired and is no longer available.
